ITGITC
Why is it not okay to make fun of gay people? We make fun of guitarists too, right? Um, yeah... good point. OK And now, from this hermetically sealed envelope... http://www.grubstreet.ca/images/carnac1.jpg I predict that, in good time, Mr. Kanker. will favor us with his presence... He'll certainly want to include all the trumpet players. Yeah. Every one of 'em. I'm sure of it. Hey Mr. Zephonic, care for a brewski? BTW, Mr. Kanker. would recommend that it be served at ROOM TEMP. Yup. You can bet on that, Mr. Z. Carmac the Magnificient is most certain of it. kanker.
Yes Tom, I love my trumpet players served at room temperature... A ROMpler is just a polyphonic turntable.
Jazzwee
I can't imagine blowing over 'I Will Survive'. Maybe some diminished and ALT scales might work... Hamburg Steinway O, Crumar Mojo, Nord Electro 4 HP 73, EV ZXA1
Dave Pierce
I actually like that song. When I was in That Seventies Band, we always opened the second set with it, and the opening notes always packed the dance floor with every hot chick in the room. Every time. Works for me! Our lead singer did the first verse rubato, just vocal and piano. She hammed in up like crazy. Did you ever wonder how many times you can say "Oh", and make the crowd echo it, before you finally open the second verse with "Oh now go, walk out the door"? A lot of times, is the answer. And, you can do it again after the break in the middle. --Dave Make my funk the P-funk. I wants to get funked up. stepay
Oh Tom, relax. Sorry. I do get a little uptight sometimes. Thanks for the clarification, Stepay. Tom No problem brother. I'll admit that as I'm an odd bird, my intentions aren't always understood. Steve (Stevie Ray) "Do the chickens have large talons?"
stepay
I just got off the phone with the guy that wrote the orig. arr for the G.G. hit. Today he was orchestrating a mini series for hbo(john adams). Pretty manly. On a similar note, we all know that Paul Shaffer wrote It's Raining Men, and he is also very manly! I've never given it much thought. Little rodents. They always made me laugh. So what they do in their little treehouse is their own business. I don't care. They're damn-good singers & dancers though, right? nmcq
Anybody treat the Fm as a tonic minor chord, playing dorian over it, as if set up by the C (an implied V) at the end? I've done that and played it as a vi (aolian) too, just wondering. Neil Huh, I never made that link before. They are both diatonic cycles, although I Will Survive is a pure diatonic cycle and All The Things changes key centres. All the Things: Fm-Bbm-Eb7-Ab-Dm7-G7-C (vi-ii-V7-I-ii-V7-I) I Will Survive: Am-Dm7-G7-C-F-Bm7b5-E7 (vi-ii-V7-I-IV-vii/ii-V7) The things you learn! myspace.com/AlteredDominant www.Prymary.com NordElectro3/S90XS/SteinwayS(midi'd)/KX88/Apple MBP, iMac/MainStage2/Scrbee/NI Komplete/ApogeeDuet/QSCplx1804/JBLmrx512/SpcStnSRX/LogicPro9/DP/ProTools
