Moonfish
I've got problems with my Boss DD6 delay...........I use it in input into a Fender Twin reverb. When I play clean, the sound is great but when I switch on a tubescreamer or a Rat, the sound is noisy and confused..... Twin reverb don't have send/return so I can't set up delay in another way. Are another delays (more expensive) foot pedals better than DD6 for my problem?....or the problems are others things? Sorry 4 my SpaghettiEnglish! The Geoff
Make sure your delay comes after the distortion - that's the best you can do if you don't have an FX loop. G. Rhino Madness
You may be overloading the input of the DD-6. Try lowering the output level of your overdrive.
Gifthorse
Yeah I second the put the delay on after the distortion. But you really can't avoid that front end muddiness when you can't use the loop. I personally hate the way delays sound in the front. They seem to alter the tone too much for my taste and sound kind of dead. http://flagshipmile.dmusic.com/ http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse
Bejeeber
I third putting the delay AFTER the distortion. Most distortion only has the kinda clarity you're looking for when a monophonic (lead guitar) or power chord signal is fed to it. When you have delay before distortion, you can get various notes playing at the same time and when they hit that distortion - train wreck! Of course if your distortion is before the delay but boosts the level enough to also distort the delay (like Rhino mentioned), or overdrive your amp, then same problem.
