Caevan O’Shite
"HEY!" Wow. Long loved the song- and man, isn't that just archetypal organ grinding?- but never saw this proto-video; that's absofrigaliscously b!tch!n'! Love the penguin. The lightly sarcastic, indifferent "hey!"-miming bits are pretty cool, too. Better than much of what's been trotted out on MTV oh, since they began broadcasting, and it's how old?? (Though fairly new at the time this was shot.) Seems I've even tried one out once, yeeeears ago in a cool little guitar shop... picker
You know, this brings up a point. That's not the only picture I've ever seen of the Spencer Davis Band using those guitars. And seeing them brings back memories of other bands from the era who used guitars made by folks other than Fender or Gibson, or their various clones. Things strated getting a bit more homogenized tonally when everybody gravitated to the Les Paul/Marshall thing after Clapton hit with Cream.I wonder if things weren't maybe a little more interesting tonally before everybody started sounding the same...
