Caevan O’Shite Posted December 29, 2007 Share Posted December 29, 2007 I kinda like Teles with three pickups, and/or a Strat-style pickup in the neck-position; or, a Strat with a bridge-pickup that sounds a bit like a Tele's, by various means... It's also nice to reverse a Tele's control-plate and configure the volume-control nearer the bridge and pickups, and the selector-switch to the rear... makes for better swell-effects using the volume-knob... On a Strat, well, that's effectively already been done for ya by our uncle Leo... I'd never want a Tele with a whammy, or a Strat without one, though... part 'n' parcel of their respective tonal characters, IMHO... ... ... ...
