drunkensamplist
heya guys, im doing a little research for an article and i am interested to learn a little more about the careers of sound designers, especially those in gaming and creating sample cds or other similar non-broadcast positions. im familiar with broadcast now having done a stint and am by trade 'just' an engineer but am fascinated by those who have carved a living out of creative sound design for commercial non-broadcast clients. how did you find yourself doing this job? whats a day "at the office" involve? are you able to sustain a full salary doing this or does it co-exist with more "usual" audio work? what formats do you work in? i would imagine being flexible would be essential? predominantly studio work or extensive field recording? any insight into this enigmatic audio career would be appreciated. those who wish to contact me directly please feel free to do so at zerowingstudios@hotmail.com thank you.
