Nawor
I'm looking for a P4 (875 chipset) motherboard with onboard SP/DIF 24 bit optical I/O. I know Abit make the IC7-G which icludes this. Is anyone aware of any others? Cheers "WARNING!" - this artificial fruit juice may contain traces of REAL FRUIT!!
Philip OKeefe
Mine (Asus A7N8X - for AMD CPU's) has S/PDIF onboard... it requires an optional daughterboard that sits in a PCI opening on the back and connects to the mobo with a jumper cable. I never bothered with it... I've had more problems with onboard audio than it was worth. IMO, you may as well just get a major brand PCI card and be done with it - you're less likely to have probl;ems with getting updated drivers, etc. May I suggest the M Audio Audiophile 24/96? I guess I just did. ;)
3D Audio
The new G5s will have optical SPDIF in and out. It's about time. Digital in and out of a computer. Where did they ever get that idea? Lynn Fuston 3D Audio Inc Home of 3dB
MattC
Without double checking the chipset, try this: Asus P4S533 ...think funky thoughts...
Alndln
Keep in mind that NForce's new Soundstorm built in audio,is the only one that boasts Asio drivers. It also comes with spdif as an optionI'm not shure however,if NForce makes chipsets for P4's though,I'll have to look it up.
