zephonic
I figure that with current technology it shouldn't be too hard to build a keytar with a notebook-battery and wireless MIDI-transmission? I'd have one, and I think Dick Ward would, too local: Korg Nautilus 61 AT | Yamaha MODX8 away: GigPerformer | 16" MBP M1 Max home: Kawai RX-2 | Korg D1 | Roland Fantom X7

zephonic
Yeah, that's good, but then built into something like a Roland AX, which should run on a proper rechargeable battery. local: Korg Nautilus 61 AT | Yamaha MODX8 away: GigPerformer | 16" MBP M1 Max home: Kawai RX-2 | Korg D1 | Roland Fantom X7

Go for it, dude! If you think the subset of remote keyboard users (which is infinitesmal to start with) would go for it, you should assemble one! I use rechargeables anyway in my KX-1 and AX-1,(the Lync uses phantom power off of a 4 pin XLR) and I'm sure one of the transmitters on the market could be fit into the inside of the chassis...mock up a prototype! I'd buy one. "For instance" is not proof.
