VeloDoug
I have an Ibanez TS-9 that is fairly old. I love it when it is working, but the footswitch seems to only work when it wants to... not a great trait when you need to pump that solo up to 11 *now* (vs. click-click-click now). Does anyone have any do-it-yourself remedies to service this w/o paying a bench charge? The Geoff
It's not that difficult to replace a big standard footswitch, if that's what it is - bit of soldering here & there. If it's one of those mini-switches on a circuit card, well, that's a different story. G. Dr. Ellwood
The part is made by E-Switch with the part number TL1100 and the Mouser P/N is 612-TL1100 http://www.thestringnetwork.com
mdrs
Hey ellwood....got a link? Do you routinely replace switches like this one with the military specs stuff?? Or, do you wait for the originals to wear out, then change them out?? Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. Dr. Ellwood
Yep Doc LINK: http://www.mouser.com/index.cfm?handler=home I replace the pots right away, I've got a suitcase full of old original pots and switches. They are all MilSpec, with correct tapers, much the same kind of specs Fumbles was talking about in another thread. British or American MilSpec are fine, same specs for both. If you ever come across pots or switches made by the Collins Radio Corporation from the 50's/60's....buy em!!! http://www.thestringnetwork.com
VeloDoug
Hey Elwood! Thanks for the info. That link actually doesn't work, so I searched for the part number and there were many flavors of 612-TL1100: click here for my search results. Can you tell me which one is right? Thanks!! Doug.
