mdrs
I brought my sons to see The Police at Madison Square Garden, in NYC last night. Superb show. There is something very satisfying about watching musicians that good, making great music. All three guys play the hell out of their instruments. Stewart Copeland is simply outstanding!! They are all fantastic musicians, and play out of the mainstream, which I admire. Several times Sting had the Garden crowd singing the lyric, and it sounded like the ENTIRE CROWD were singing. My sons were singing along!! I didn't know that they were also into The Police!! Much of their music was hitting when I was in College and Med School. I love their music, and often felt that they raised the musicianship and lyrical content of pop music to a new level. I hadn't listened to much of their music lately. But several songs they played last night reminded me of some tough times I made it through. And, their music somehow resonated for me, then and now. King Of Pain, Invisible Sun, and Every Breath You Take....all still meaningful songs, and powerfully delivered by a Great Band. I was hoping my son's didn't notice the tears welling up here and there...... Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy. LPCustom
Glad you had a good time, Don. I'd rather listen to the crowd sing than Gordon Sumner any day, though. Born on the Bayou
Junior 1
Hey, Don. Did Sting have that unbelievably used 51' P Bass? I saw them on PBS a few weeks ago, they were great.
mdrs
Yea....it's the only bass he played all night. He makes it sound pretty good, too!! btw....I'd give my left one to be able to sing even close to the way Sting can sing. Don "There once was a note, Pure and Easy.
