Zuben
I don't know what the special prices are for the limited edition but - 1997 GIBSON DOUBLENECK DOUBLE NECK EDS-1275 EDS1275 Buy it now! 20 pounds - I don't think I am allowed to pick up 20 pounds! LOL But I did play one in 1979 in St Louis. Interesting guitar but very limited on what you can use it for. Lots of effects on just how you set the volumes, and tones. Found another one, White, on eBay.... save a fortune! http://www.spotcheckbilly.com http://www.littlefeat.net http://www.bonnieraitt.com
Dr. Ellwood
WOAH!! I lasted ONE SET with one about ten years ago! Never used the 12 neck...I mean that thing was brutal and I'm very used to Les Pauls! I'm not a small guy and that thing was outright painful! Healthy back and sholders, wide strap and it was flat horriable!! http://www.thestringnetwork.com
Kramer Ferrington III.
I wonder if they could make a special sort of strap for them. Look at saxophones. They have a normal strap until you get to the baritones and then, you have to wear a harness type thing, to spread the weight more evenly. Maybe they could come up with something similar for twin-neck guitars? I mean, everybody loves twin-necks but the sheer weight is the deal breaker. They really should invent a purpose-built strap. The Geoff
I'm not going to repeat the story again - suffice to say my left shoulder never recovered. G. David Beardsley
not for me...when I play the top neck, the bottom neck gets in the way, when I play the bottom neck...it's at a funny angle.
Warthog
Doesn't Alex Lifeson use one in "Closer to the Heart"??
The Geoff
I've noticed Elton John's guitarist uses a double-neck, but not a Gibson - it looked more like an Ibanez Artist to me. G. Danzilla
Doesn't Alex Lifeson use one in "Closer to the Heart"?? I think he used an acoustic on a stand for the beginning; and played the electric part on a single neck (varies through the years whether he uses a Strat, a PRS, a Gibson...). He most definitely uses a Gibson doubleneck on "Xanadu". A few other tunes from time to time, too.
