Hello from the Guitar and Bass Forum,

I post there from time to time and have played guitar for over 20 years and bass for 6. I just bought a used Yamaha CS2x keyboard and am wondering where to start to learn to play.

Are there some excercies you would recommend to get my hands used to playing the chords and scales?

Any warm-up suggestions and stretches?

And finally any good beginner songs to try to learn?

Thanks for any suggestions,

Jason

I'm a firm believer in the value of a good teacher because they can teach proper technique (among other things). If, however, you're intent on going it alone, you may want to check out the "Dozen a Day" books by Edna Mae Burnham (assuming that you can read music). It's a popular series of technical exercises available in a variety of levels for beginner to intermediate piano students. You can find the level that's right for you now and work up from there.
