Dr Teeth
What is exactly what you call a home studio? when we(in guateamala) say a home studio se refer to a person with his computer, maybe a mixer, 5 mics, a compresor and efects... but i look for home studios in the net and I find this http://www.soundcontrolroom.com/hifive.htm AWESOME! miroslav
A home studio is what you make it...it could be a 4 track cassette Portastudio with one microphone, or it can be a full-scale high end set-up. It all comes down to how much $$$ you have and what you can do with the equipment. miroslav - miroslavmusic.com "Just because it happened to you, it doesn't mean it's important." That photo from High Five is not a 'home studio'. Make it as nice as you want or can, but 1 mixer maybe 2, a few processors, could be several actually. 2 good mics, Mic pre, etc. that is more along the lines. I do have nice studio but not like that photo. Funny how you aquire gear. Get a Keyboard, before long you want (need) a sequencer. Before long after that, more sounds. Then Filters and more effects. Maybe one more reverb, better mic pre, oh shit can't forget that sweet 24 bit bass emulator. How about a another power conditioner, hmmm another keyboard would be great. Damn, I really need a 4th drum machine, my other 3 don't have these sounds. Damn I know my mixes will sound extra crisp through this sonic maximizer. How can I even continue without this tube compressor and tube EQ. Wait, maybe I really DO need a 3rd dedicated reverb unit, my DAW only has 16 tracks, gotta get me 16 more. Sorry I was going off on a tangent. Home studios do grow quick and are always hungry.

st00ts
That one shot is real nice, blurring the line between a home studio and a, well, non-home studio. I personally always associate home studio's with amateur use. If people can rent out your home studio for their use, I think it becomes more of a workplace then a home. That pic is just too nice looking. Wooden everything. To me, the more ghetto rigged and ugly it is, the more of a home studio it is

b_3guy
Originally posted by LatinMusic: B3 guy what is what you have there that seems to be a half nord lead?
Korg MS 2000 Virtual Analogue synth. It's like every style analog board that's been in existance. Short 49 keys. Only weighs 18 lbs. 2 osc's, 1filter, 2 envelopes, built in 16 step sequencer, vocoder & audio in capabilities. More features than I can list. It may not sound as thick & fat as an old analog synthbut close, & it produces frequencies that can hurt my ears. And one more thing, it's cheap.
