  1. agreed, we should just can post anything as a musician (and questions about it) no matter what it is. And get fair comments So is the policy here also I think
  2. I feel btw not offended by the comments on the video I posted from our gig this thing? I think because my English is not al that good, the video would illustrate it more as me describing it all I like it that you all just comment on what you think about it, so don't feel bad about that
  3. I agree with that, think I'm doing Key 2 for most of the time. I provide the backup "ears candy" sound and think ok maybe the singers or the key1 player should do more of the stage performance. For my idee this is like OK, but ok maybe I could smile more, but hey this is like 1 hour music, can't do that all the time
  4. This is basically how I think also, It is not like a giant pop-gig where everyone is get payed etc. It is indeed for the service. And we get advice, to look happier on stage or more engaged. It is not all needed for this kind of thing. But why I ask, maybe there are small things we can change as a whole band>? It is not for me only, this was advice to the band in general. I'am engaged for 100%. but we do this practice in relativy short time, and I hang on something in front of me before me. while the chords are not that difficult. I can probably learn this from the top of my head btw, think that helps?
  5. wohw guys didn't know this was going to be such a long topic. But thanks for posting everyone, thinks this is something we all have to deal with. Thanks for te great tips so far
  6. well yeah can understand you're question, to answer to it. This is organized by a baptist church, with theme evenings about Israel. So in the same space, some of the things where still standing there from the morning service. But not my point, It is not if it is christian or whatever someone believes, It is about music and musicians
  7. it's also a thing, people say look happier, haha I'am,. but ok can't get a smile on my face like 45 minutes at a time. Also don't know when the camera's hit me in focus.
  8. I don't know, btw this was not for a wedding, a christian worship idee for Israel. Well doesn't me matter if it is christian or whatever other type of performance. Well in this, while the critique was ok about musically performance. We'll the say band-member should engage more etc. Ik understand part of that, but I have to learn quickly the chords and need a reminder for it to play...
  9. well great tips? I know? but I for me at least, this is short term learn everything, it is not complicated in music, so should learn it by head. (is this an ok English thing to say, don't know Anyway yes, I understand. I think if I stand, I could move a little bit more, in rhythm. hahaha but it feels un natural to me
  10. Well played in various bands, but this is a struggle for me. For musicals etc it is not a problem (behind curtains etc) How ever in a live setting when sitting as a keyboard player?? We get positive feedback music, bet looking to much at the sheets etc. I'm guilty in that. O share with you performance from last sunday How do you deal with this sort of things? is there a trick?
  11. To add to this, the guy makes the groove without drums or bass, well outstanding
  12. Yes, me too, never knew him since I'm from the Netherlands. Researched what he did after this YouTube.
  13. so fan of Greg! he is awesome. The electric piano demo for keyscape is legend. funny guy
  14. Thanks, I like this forum and members allot, if it only, it is the only one really I could find, specific for keyboard players. The info shared here is great.
  15. Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself here at the forum. I'm actually reading this forum for like 10 years or so. So not really new, but never posted. I'm from the Netherlands 39 years old, playing piano since I was 8 years old got classical lessons for about 8 years, and then I quit. Mostly because my parents paid for it (thanks mom and dad) and by 16 not anymore. Well so I was at an age that I could play rather good from sheet music and then there came people asking me to play (with band) At first this was a gospel choir, so partial sheet-music and lead sheets with chord. Ohhhhhh well a chord???? Never learned that..... Anyway, learned that part on my own, participated in a few cover bands, musicals (I like that btw and would love to hear stories from you all if you ever did this kind of gigs) For gear I have a Yamaha S90ES now for a long time. And just ordered a M-audio hammer 88 pro to use at home (my S90ES is in rehearsal room now for use with a small worship band). Don't like carrying all that gear. And since I have a MacBook M1 now I will try experimenting if it will work with MainStage, for now just at home, but thinking of switching to it for live use. anyway in short my introduction, feel free to ask anything
