Trying to add NORD Wave 2 to my rig
changearound2 replied to Steve Beach's topic in The Keyboard Corner
You need to have the External section on the Stage 2 on but with no zones selected. If this is the case and it's still not working then what are your external settings for cc number, cc value and send CtrlPed? Also, does the Stage 2 sustain pedal still work on the Wave 2? -

Also make sure the Global channel on the Stage 2 doesn't match any of the Wave 2 channels. -
Glenn Tilbrook on Live at Daryl's House

There's a new episode up on YouTube with Charlie Starr from Blackberry Smoke and Eliot is still there. I'd never heard of Blackberry Smoke but enjoyed the episode. LFDH just works. -

My favourite LFDH performance is Diane Birch and Nothing But A Miracle. Eliot's using an electro with a sustain pedal attached to the left hand side for changing leslie speed. Crazy to think this is from 2009 and sad to learn that Eliot has now left the band. Up until the Squeeze episode he's the only regular member still standing from that time although Charlie DeChant who plays only on certain episodes/songs where sax is required is still present and has been with H&O forever. -

Christopher Cross on Midnight Special

I think the synth player is doing all the filter opening and closing on the wind sound by hand so is unable to play the missing part even if he had a 2nd keyboard. Moonglow, could you make an octave apart layered piano patch so you could play the intro with one finger and avoid the choppiness? I love that first CC album and quite often play Sailing or Minstrel Gigolo on piano when I'm in the mood. At one band rehearsal I broke into RLTW and 2 of my bandmates recognised it as a Saxon song. Don't know how many will be familiar with the Saxon cover from the late '80s. It was a minor hit in the UK but I don't suppose it did a lot in the US. For my money it works quite well and I like what they do with the ba-da-da-da bit. -
Happy to help.

3 things to check: 1. Is the midi led on the Classic blinking when you turn the Parameter knob on the 2? 2. Is the midi cc led for the Parameter knob lit up on the 2? 3. Is the Classic set to Receive or Send & Receive for Midi Ctrl Change in the midi menu of the Classic?

There will be a specific cc for synth level. On my Stage Classic EX and Stage 2 it's cc112 but Nord have a habit of changing some cc numbers for different Stage models so it may not be the same on your Classic. There should be a Midi Controller list in the manual.

The foot switch which does Program Up and Down on the Stage 3 can be assigned to Tap Tempo amongst other things on the stage 4.

If you're changing from using the Stage 2 midi din to midi over usb then you'll need to change the midi settings on the Nord. You can set the channels to 1-16 for din or usb1-16 for usb.

You can attach pedals to both the CME and the midisolutions/audiofront - it's not either/or. The MS/AF will add their midi to whatever comes out of the CME. Interesting to see what Modartt come up with. I imagine their interface would have to be quite flexible to control both Pianoteq and Organteq. Let us know what you end up doing.

Here's a link to the manual: https://www.cme-pro.com/proline/cme_uf56780classic_manual_v03_en.pdf It looks like each pedal input can only do one thing so to get sustain and una corda you'd have to use both pedal inputs i.e. no volume/expression pedal. For Midisolutions you'd need a Pedal Controller to add continuous sustain or a Footswitch Controller for una corda. You may also need a Power Adapter depending on the midi voltage on the CME. A more expansive alternative would be an Audiofront Midi Expression iO: https://www.audiofront.net/MIDIExpression.php This would give you an extra 4 pedal inputs, continuous or switch.

Glad to be of help.

Change the channel on the Electro 3. On the Event Processor Plus program a Map A Midi Event for CC11, 64 and 82 where the midi channel is changed from 1 to the new Electro 3 channel. I think this will achieve what you want. BTW, the Note On filter should now be superfluous.
