I know a good many of them here on Long Island. The talent pool here is vast, varied and inspiring.

Wow, this just sounds awesome - and a very fine demo video. I have until now avoided the Kontakt environment from my Mainstage comfort zone (apparently they used to not get along with each other), but I"m less reliant on it now that I"ve canned live gigs for the time being. I am always interested in modified piano instruments; I could lose myself in this one.

Also Spandex.

As I mentioned, I have one of those. There seems to be a half dozen Amazon vendors selling the same thing. I was hoping for something a little more... refined. Yamaha actually makes one, though it's white/translucent, oversized, and out of stock anyway.

I am fishing for a recommendation of a nice looking soft cover for my home-bundle P-515. They threw one of those black spandex stretchy 'sleeves' in the bundle, but I"d prefer something a little more attractive/substantial. (This board is out of the man cave and in the living room - my wife won't be happy with something crappy looking.)
I've seen this one. It's a possibility but looking for other options.

Why minimoog, or any keyboard/synth, for that matter? Success or failure depends on the player. I used to love that seminal (for me, anyway) Rudess Morgenstein Project recording from the late 90"s. So friggin" good. I began to take any chance to jam without a bassist just for the freedom of jumping through changes as they occurred to me. With a perceptive drummer, it can be a blast.

Actually, to me it sounds like the 2nd percussion, normal, slow, with the first two drawbars pushed in, fast Leslie. 0 0 8 8 8 3 0 0 0 sounds reasonably close on my iPad Galileo

Strongly agree re: Digital D1. Get it, find your best headphones, and lose the next couple of hours exploring the numerous deep, evolving presets. Many talented sound designers climbed on board for this one. Truly one of those iOS apps you"ll be tempted to dedicate a controller to in your rig.
Check out this Brice Beasley sampler:

Most older dutch people remember the band Ekseption from the late sixties early seventies.
I don´t really know about the rest of this world...
Once the internet arrived, I backed into Ekseption from the Trace recordings, which I found first. I think most proggers were aware of Rick van der Linden, he was fairly prolific and quite talented.

I tuned my low F down to E for a while, I had much more use for that. Tuned it back up when I lent it to someone, and just left it that way.

I can do that comfortably in any key but I got relatively long fingers.
Great playing, man.

Big fan of Nahre's videos always learn something. I like her video on classical musician learns.... funk, bossa and others. Then her videos where she starts reharming classical pieces. Also her videos with Adam Neely and David Bruce she's so open minded and not a classical snob.
Yes. And now Im hooked on David Bruce as well.

Cool tune. At various times it reminded me of Liquid Tension Experiment, or maybe Rudess Morgenstein Project.

Just announced.
Update with their latest control scheme.
TP100/LR so may not be to everyones liking. $999
An understatement. I was dismayed to see that, was sure they were going to pick up their game with a better action.

Probably not what you had in mind, but it might scratch that itch for a while:
Youll need an iOS device, the SynthMaster Player app, and the Historic Synth Giants, Vol. 2 preset pack. Some are closer than others, but its fun...

+1 on all of that.

Good to have the DL guys back. I came across these nugget a while ago to hold me over - Jonah with Jacob Collier at Montreaux. Don't recognize the drummer and bass player, but they are off the hook...

Yes, a good review.
Gimme one in black, 9 sets of sliders/knobs instead of 8, wheels instead of ribbons, replace the keyboard with a row of buttons.

. . . I couldn't find a setting that uses hand percussion. Is there one or is there another app that does?
Take a look at DrumJam.

I was pleased to be notified that my backordered furniture stand shipped today, a month sooner than they expected.

. . . And it's incorrect. It needs to be changed back.
Better alert the authorities, this egregious act cannot go unpunished!
Wait - New Zealand dollars, perhaps?

In the USA:
MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price):
PX-S1000: $ 899.99
PX-S3000: $ 1,099.99
Street Price (what retailers are actually selling these for):
PX-S1000: $ 599.99
PX-S3000: $ 799.99
The price for the S3000 in the title is even higher than the MSRP!! Whoever changed it should change it again to match reality so that readers don't decide to skip this topic based on pricing that's not even accurate.
Refer back to the beginning, I believe that was in Canadian dollars or something - were all well aware of the US prices.

Harpy was one of the first bands I saw when I came back from school in the mid 70s. And I remember the name Heresy, surely I saw you play back in the day.

Larry McGowan did not use a CS-80 with them ... they must of bought it after he took his 1st hiatus from the 'Rats']
Like most local bands, what keyboards "they" have can depend on what keyboards the keyboardist owns. ;-) My guess is that the CS80 was Jack's own. I played with RRC for a little while early this century, I used a mix of their equipment and mine.
Richie Bifulco from the L.I. band Essence (always had great rigs) also had a CS-80. He lent it to me one night for a Stanton Anderson show at Tuey's. Stood quite close by with his eye on me all night, but I was very appreciative.

OK, well I had to look them up. But yes, I could go well into the next day doing stuff like that, lost in my headphones. Very nice.
I'm going to pull the trigger, though I probably should wait a little longer. Just got the P-515 home bundle, I need to space things out.
