Yes, Billy Joel has said that Elton John is a better piano player than him. In a Rolling Stone interview after the two performed together, Joel said, "Elton kicks my ass on piano. He's fantastic — a throwback to Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino and Little Richard. His spontaneous, improvisational playing always challenges me". Joel also said that John's mastery of the piano's dynamic and percussive qualities makes him a better piano player.

  2. I was gonne comment but MIGHTY MOTIF MAX covered most of what i feel about the Fantom. The Eps. are TURRIBLE you would think a flagship

keyboard would have playable Eps.  The pads are wonderful the pianos are just ok for me my Kronos is much bertter for Eps. but have mostly

3rd party libraries. I have the F7 and keybed is reallly good and love the synth section. I hate the WURLIS and RHODES on F7.

But I have a MOJO 61 so that solve the shortcomings of thr EPS. although i the prefer Purgatory CREEK EP. samples from Busch on thr Kronos.

  3. Thanks for the info will not gig with keyboard at least very seldom. I have a Fantom 7 and MOJO that i gig with which i am close to retiring from doing gigs.

I am familar with Nord pianos had one a  few years back and sold it for Fantom probably mistake but the new update on Fantom is nice and finally

a piano that i like but the synths sound great with new update. Just want Montage for studio at home the pianos sound really good on videos but can be

misleading. Suprisingly the Fantom is good with the EX update if only the.Rhodes and Wurlils were better turrible i SAY. Still love my Kronos 88

While the Nord Stage 4 was on my short list, I went for the Montage M8x. Outside of the usual "Nord is stage instrument for performance", would love a side by side if anyone owns both.

  5. Being a former member took a break from the music scene. Looking for a stage piano this may seem a little wierd

but I love the Korg SV2 especially the Eps. and the vintage look as well. I have had a nord before love the pianos but

something keeps bringing me back to the Korg sv2. Experienced and know about the  Yamaha YC like the sounds and

the Stage 3, Nord piano 5 as well. Love the Nord pianos but not eps.  I was going to purchase Nord piano 5 but heard

the Korg SV2 and the sound and look just got me thinking again. The Nord piano 5 and OBX8 is something I have been

lusting for but the SV2 just love the ease of access and no menu diving. Any thoughts or someone that has a SV2

could chime in. Thanks for any input would be appreciated.

  6. I can't compare it to the VR-09, but I do find it much better than the organs in my Kronos. Also, It's a bit better than my Nord Stage 3 organ -- especially the overdrive and Leslie.

U are are gonna get the red army on you saying Roland organ is better than Nord. I agree organ is better than Nord but really personal opinion both are ok.

  7. Particle board case, tube amp... there was on in my church when I was a kid. Very nice. Worth checking out even if it means driving across town - and if that town is Fairbanks Alaska

Very cheap if I had the money I would go for it. Make sure it works properly they were alot of humming issues that drove me crazy years ago 60 cycle hum. The tuning is a PITA not to mention reeds breaking

and need replacing. But it is a vintage EP most likely could sell if you were not happy with it. Alot of factors to figure in most people used a phase 90 and some chorus effect as well. A dry WURLY is good but

effects really make it sound really good Check out Stay WITH ME ole ROD STEWART TUNE WURLY IS SMOKING
