  3. ^^^ She's done a runner? , but there will be another new one?? Brett
  4. You could attach a couple of drones to it and have it fly around. And drop it on the club owner's head... Death would be instantaneous , he wouldn't know or feel a thing as he is squashed like a tomatoe , would be all over rover Brett
  5. These are my "surround" speakers for my living room stereo: http://i.minus.com/ibkjdISEfaq93t.JPG They were built by my wife's best friend's stepfather, who was this amazing tinkerer, builder, inventor. In the '60's, he wired his entire house as a multi-zone audio system, with a switch-bay that turned speakers on and off through out the house. He also built most of the amps that powered the whole system, I think they were Heathkits. There were wall-mounted speakers in these exquisite little boxes in every room. These were his main stereo pair. The larger one is about 18" in diameter and has 15 drivers, and the smaller is 13" with 11 drivers. There are 3 different types of drivers in the system, but there doesn't seem to be any system as to how the drivers are laid out. They do sound really good, they lack extreme lows and highs, but project the mids beautifully into the room. I have a pair of Infinity's that take care of the lows and highs. I got the speakers after our friend's stepfather passed away, no-one could figure out how to get sound out of the system, and they bought modern equipment to replace his stuff. As it turned out, the only reason they couldn't get sound out of the whole system was because they had the tape-monitor engaged on the main receiver! They gave me these in exchange for setting up their new system, but as far as I knew, everything in his old system worked. We used them for the cover of the Xenat-Ra LP: http://f1.bcbits.com/img/0000707333_10.jpg Thank you for showing us this , very interesting! Brett
  6. It's a beast and weighs a ton. The drones would be rooted . I knew it was going to be heavy , but I had been wanting to build it for years. Brett
  7. I built this to throw my sound around a few years ago Musical instrument gear (Kurzweil PC1X and speakers) 053 by brettymike, on Flickr
  8. No , the people that operate the tinny house can afford new shoes , and throw their old ones up on the "sign wire" Brett
  9. I wondered the same thing! Like setting 2 up as a PA system (with subs) in small-mid size venues ... not sure if any cancellation would occur or not .... I'm guessing none would ... Aspen? Exactly , I wonder if some kind of cancellation would occur.....or not!! Brett
  10. I wonder what 2 x SS3's would sound like? , for stereo/sound surround on steroids Brett
  11. Thanks xKnuckles! , I've built about 42 of them so far - and 100's of small beasties and things. A self portrait? , would you like neked? , I will see what I can do .... Legend has it (in this country at least) that those shoes hanging up there signify a "tinny house" or "tinny houses" right near by . Great photo's as usual people . Brett
  12. My hobbie I love as much as music , and more .... my Father made me my first toy one when I was about 5 years old and I was hooked . 15. Awesome Himalayas portfolio Ken!!^^^ , German women turn up you say?!,hmmm...I look quite different to the Aryan men , I don't think I could pull off a convincing disguise - unless we do it in the dark!;-) . Brett
  16. After reading 99% of these posts on the SS3 , that's it's beauty - awesome stereo sound that spreads *without* being deafeningly loud like ordinary speakers can be. Bigger SS3 has to be considered for larger venues. (All the top notch sound systems I have heard in my life, we could soak up the sound - and still talk (like around the SS3 apparently). Brett
  17. With all due respect, that is like bringing a Prius to a Formula One race. To expect the SS to stand up to Marshalls or Twins is unrealistic. The SS is a great sounding amp that will do well in moderate sound levels (I heard it at NAMM under less than ideal conditions, but it sounded very good). The laws of physics are still in place. A larger SS could blow everything else into the weeds. Brett
  18. Thanks Ken , that guy's Incredible! , must has been awesome to meet and walk and talk with him. That guy knows water is heavy to carry while hiking , and it's a real pain in the nuts actually (would be great to walk naked carrying nothing - one day ). I have been told earth is heading for it's 6th nuclear wipeout. Brett
  19. Unbelievable Ken! , was that guy Native American Indian by any chance?? , or was he some kind of earth visitor? . About 12 of us did 1/2 dozen 10-12 klm hikes last year along the rugged coastline tracks , and we were constantly sipping H2O to survive. That guy must be a machine. (another great photo Ken!) Brett
  20. ^^^ Excellent photo's going on people. I really enjoyed that desert adventure Ken , I love deserts - as long as I'm not stranded and thirsty . Love those Prague pics xxKnuckles. Brett

  24. No particle board for me, ever. If it's a wood cabinet, I'll have plywood please. Plywood on the outside veneer sure , and then Aspen would be forced to put his price up and numbers made down. Brett
