  1. You look familiar. Probably saw you in Sound Source? Yessir! Most likely. I usually spend lots of time there. The owner's younger brother sings lead in one of my bands.
  2. dude your pedals are backwards. Everyone knows you use the volume pedal with your right foot and leslie switch with your left! ??? This is the way I've played for years. I guess I'm backwards that way! But did you at least dig the shoes???
  3. Most recent setup... http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa20/tucktronix/386507_2124435482417_1591797536_31604294_1372636327_n.jpg
  4. This is indeed a work of art! Plenty awesome! Build quality looks stellar!
  5. A few weeks before Christmas of last year, I played a gig with my blues band at a community center that was located in a notoriously rough, poverty-stricken neighborhood. My equipment had to be loaded in through the front door, down a narrow hallway, down 2 flights of stairs into a secure room. This turned out to be the most rewarding gig I've ever played. We were playing to a group of people, some convicted felons, some overcoming drug addictions, no place to live, etc.. with staff volunteers. Just seeing the looks on their faces and the fun they were having was well worth it. They assisted in loading my gear afterward.
  6. There is a bar/grill in town when I used to play gigs with a Motown band a few years ago(Merchants Grille for you, Jay). All those gigs were played in the upstairs bar, and everything had to carted up a long flight of stairs.
  7. Hey Jon, That was really nice! I enjoyed that. Nice piano work. An optimistic song. Regards, Joe Thanks That piano track only took about a couple million takes to get it to my satisfaction . All in all it was a blast to work on.
  8. Here's a lil' sumptum-sumptum I've just finished, called "See the 3, be the 3", found on my MySpace page... MySpace
  9. Just completed another jazz/funk track, on my myspace page... Hocus Pocus
  10. Hello all, My name is Jon(nickname "Tuck"), and I came here from the Harmony Central forums. Being primarily self-taught, I've been playing keys since the age of 17. I'm 41(soon to be 42 next month) and I work as a network printer support technician, what IBM lovingly refers as a "key-operator" by day. My main genres are blues and funk, but lately I've been incorporating some jazz standards under my fingers. I've played in several types of bands in my musician lifetime, including rockabilly, funk, r&b, top 40, progressive rock, blues, Motown, jazz fusion and classic rock. I currently play keys in 3 bands(blues, classic rock and jazz fusion). I also compose material at home and have written several tracks, some of which can be found on my jazz fusion band's latest CD. My gear comprises of a Yamaha S80 which is my main board of choice for all things piano, a Korg CX3, Yamaha EX7, Korg X2 and Korg MicroKorg. I also have a Stage 73 with about 6 dysfunctional keys(broken tines??). My amp is the unpopular Roland KC550. During gigs with the blues band, the CX3 is patched through a Leslie 25/Fender Bassman setup provided by the guitarist. My influences: Jimmy Smith, George Duke, Leon Russell, Otis Spann, Charles Brown, Henry Butler and Keith Emerson, to name a few.
  11. Thanks dB. It's been over 2 years since my last finished project and I've kind of struggled with this one. Not one of my favs, but there are some good moments. With that being said, I've always been a fan of your work, especially your reworking of 'The Light Dies Down On Broadway'. Your version of 'Sympathy...' is no exception. 'Evil Genius' is just plain brilliant, IMO:thu:
  12. Just completed and posted a jazz/funk composition, in the vein of early George Duke... Tepid
  13. 14. Hi all, I have several tracks posted on my soundclick site . The material is mainly instrumental jazz/funk or rock fusion with a few R&B tunes to boot. I've just uploaded my latest track called 'On The Verge'. Try not to puke too much Peace, Tuck
