  4. Actual blood on the headstock is from the guitarist, which is why I now stand on stage left. He's not an enemy but that doesn't mean he didn't deserve it. Luckily his head is soft so the bass was OK, which is all that really matters.
  5. If we are talking strictly aesthetics, I don't care for red basses. Similar to the paint on cars, unless it's super-duper high end, you never know what color it will evolve into. In a few years, will it still look red? More of an orange or tomato soup color? Add on a red pickguard of a different material and the issue multiplies.

  9. Not quite sure if this is sarcasm or not, but either way, I am always torn. This was only half in jest.
  10. I should get a compression pedal. I always heard a bass player should have one.
  11. I still have my DOD Bass EQ that I'm quite fond of. I would either set it and forget it or set it up for a slight boost that could be turned on at the right time to cut through, especially if my frequencies were getting stepped on. I also still have my DOD Bass Stereo Chorus which never gets used anymore but was great for connecting my 2 little amps. Defintily not new. About 2 years ago I got a Electro Harmonics Crying Bass (wahwah/fuzz) that's fun but if I was playing with anyone I wouldn't be able to find a use. It's gotten some bad reviews but I don't have anything bad to say about it. Sure you can dial in something awful but that's on you. Interesting concept of a non-mechanical wah. My TC Electronic tone print combo lets you download a bunch of preset effects or sets of effects. You can have 2 loaded but only one in use at a time. It's a pretty cool 2x10 combo but still wish I bought something else. I tend to agree that effects on bass are to be used sparingly, if at all.
  12. I had this one for a number of years, little info was ever really found in it. Epiphone 5120 MIJ. Sold it off about 5 years ago. I was fun but sometime almost felt like a toy. The bridge rests directly on the body and is only held in place by the string tension so really banging away on the thing wasn't the best idea. My image isn't working so trying something else from the web. Not my bass. On mine the bridge cover and damper was long gone but I had a similar bridge on an old red Kay guitar that looked similar.

  14. Just like TShakaz. Sneaks in here every year or so, sprinkles his magic dust and gone.
  15. To be honest, I don't research these things. It certainly isn't the first time. rod76: Jump In, I am sure you got some gems. Rabid Hole Sticky Soda
  16. Welcome back! Glad to "see" you. Post some stuff, tell us what you're up to. You always seemed to bring life to this place which is desperately needed these days. Seems like the few that remain tune in largely in amazement that we still have our little place here. Absolutely nothing to report on my end, maybe a minor change in gear here or there but nothing noteworthy. You wouldn't by any chance be looking for a new band name would you? We can always start a thread.
