SteveC
It seems like a good idea. Although I hate to put a strap button (even recessed) in my bass and then not like it. http://www.bassbrace.com/index.shtml The "physics" make sense to me. My Yamaha is fairly light so I don't know if I need it, but better ergonomics is always a good thing.
mro
Nice idea, but doesn't really feel right. It makes the bass stick way out in front of you.I have a back injury so that is why I bought one.You want to buy mine?
ATM
Okay, what was the brand name of the strap that looked like a pair of suspenders (bracers to you people in the UK)? Looks like they evenly distributed the weight and would use the existing strap buttons. Quick look through MF didn't turn up anything. Gruuve
I'd swear that was Jeremy in the pictures, except he wasn't playing a blue bass (and didn't even have on a blue shirt to compensate!) Old bass players never die, they just buy lighter rigs. - Tom Capasso, 11/9/2006
Cthulhu Fhtagn
...and ZZ Top had one that allowed the guitars to spin about radially on the brace. Remember the white, fur-lined Gibson T-Bird and F-Bird? When all else fails, pick up a Dean Pace. FunkSoulBrother
Who could forget the furry guitars? Personally, I don't think that would feel right. I wear my bass slightly lower than that too, so that might affect playing.
DONUT
I'm not sure I could do it. Seems uncomfortable not to be able to move it side to side. On the other hand, you'll never need a cumberbun.
