ElmerJFudd
Speculation thread... What might we be seeing from Casio in 2021 in the $1 to $1.5k area. Updates to the PX-5S and 560? Maybe some additions and improvements to the Air library. A VA synth engine, refinements to the touch screen GUI and OS? Maybe software editor, user samples, Main Stage integration. What have they been up to? Quote Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-
stoken6
A PX5 update based on the PX-Sn000 chassis is a solid bet. It would be nice to see expression pedal input and 9-drawbar organ capability in there (from the XW-P1 and MZ-X500). Cheers, Mike.
ElmerJFudd
I"d be disappointed to see the slim form factor in this price range. Shortening the keys and losing the piano-like feel these models won fans with - not being able to trigger notes close to the fall board... not worth the slimmer case imho. If they can make the existing action quieter, minimize the wiggle and bounce, great. But shorter keys? Not so interested. On the other hand - the 5S was such a hit. They have years of user feedback to study and do it again. Quote Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-
miden
Elmer I'm not sure they would bother, PX-5S is STILL selling...so perhaps buyers are just not interested in those things Quote There is no luck - luck is simply the confluence of circumstance and co-incidence... ElmerJFudd
Hey, Miden. I don"t have the stats on the 5S and 560 sales. I know they did a nice job on the 560 with some feed back from 5S owners - I bought one! But with competing products in the price range - like the RD-88 for example. They"ll have to tweak eventually! My post was simply trying to predict the future, as opposed to expressing my preference. Cheers, Mike.

Just going on what I hear from the dealers here..obviously not going out in huge numbers anymore but still selling units at around the $1000-1100 (aud) mark. 560 was/is a good seller also. TBH, just replace the keybed put in an CC jack and you could pretty much just make it a MK II and it would still keep selling, haha jmo of course Quote There is no luck - luck is simply the confluence of circumstance and co-incidence...
