Theo Verelst
Hi all, It's taken a while but here's the promised video about making the "africa" (Toto) Midi rendering with the PC3. [video:youtube] I show the first phase which is some explanation, and a little look around, playing the midi and hitting a few notes on the live keyboard, the second phase which is the sample error diminishing phase, at least for correct sounds. Meters show certain key signal banks in my studio processing setup, and you hear the sound of the Midi rendering going through that processing phase. The third phases finalized the "studio sound" experiment by adapting sound to normal acoustics, and doing a complicated equal loudness curve related trick. The sound during the first part is processed through all three passes, except the part were the Kurzweil plays the midi, there it's the first pass recorded sound.
