Bobsk8 Posted June 23, 2006 Author Share Posted June 23, 2006 I saw Joey D and Dr Lonnie Smith and Jimmy McGriff at the Iridium in Manhattan a couple of years ago. Dr Lonnie Smith did some incredible playing on the B-3 and you could see that everyone of these 3 had nothing but respect for the other two. At one point Jimmy McGriff was on the regular B-3 and Joey D was soloing on the new B-3 and Jimmy just stopped playing and sat there and listened to Joey D and shook his head, like he couldn't believe what he was hearing. The Real MC Posted June 23, 2006 Share Posted June 23, 2006 Joey's a monster. Tony Monaco is another heavyweight to watch out for. I watched both Joey and Tony demo the Hammond XK-3 at NAMM2004 - from behind the organ where I could watch their hands and feet. Man was that an education.
