howiemarsh
I recently tried a guitar in a shop, and was plugged in to a small fifty watt valve Engl combo. It had three channel. I just set all the controls on half and went thru my usual arsenal on licks. I bought the guitar, but was also seriously tempted by the amp. I currently use a Marshall JTM 30, which is great, but this was something else! Anybody got/used/own one? I'd like to know of any failings before I part with my hard earned credit rating! Cheers, Howie
Shoes
Hi Howie... Rudolf Schenker had a couple of these in his setup and recall they kind of looked like the front end of a car. I don't know what you'd be able to find about reliability or rating them other than him and Blackmore using them. They show up on e Bay as frequently as Sound City amps That would be... very rarely. What model was it and what were they asking? I still think guitars are like shoes, but louder.
howiemarsh
The price was £679 (in sterling if that means anything to you) but I've found it on the net for around £120 less. I've probably answered my own question with theses sites: http://www.engl-amps.com/engl-amps/, http://riffenstein.kingsmeade.net/forum/ Thanks Howie
