alanfc
finally, I deserve it dammit. Years of copies and substandard guitars. this is a used Carvin DC 127, just got it yesterday and have been playing it nonstop. The guitar plays incredible. The neck is unlike anything I've played before. It should be a crime to have a neck this easy. /edit/ see better picture link below Rivera + Fender Strat

This is a 1992-1994 model -Neck pickup- stock Carvin 22-pole something or other -Bridge pickup- SD Screamin Demon put in at some point. All switches pickups work fine. I'm going to give this a full airing out this weekend at band practice. We'll see if the Demon is OK or not. Sounds right at bedroom volume anyway . -Wilkinson tremelo- I just blocked it on both sides last night. Easily reversible. -color is a bit darker in person, which I like alot... Big Red 67
The necks on the carvins seem to have some kinda majic in them. I really like the trems. I put one on the strat I refinshed and built. Big Red's Ride Blog

alanfc
hey- as requested by Billster, clips are up I was able to zip home at lunchtime and whip these out. Still getting used to the neck&fretboard as you'll be able to hear. Recording conditions were less than ideal: bedroom volume with a closely positioned condenser mic . Amp is my Rivera 55w, the mic is on a 1x12 cab with an Eminence V-30 clone. There's 5 different pickup combos on the clips, I know there's more and I'll be exploring those. these basic tones are what I usually use, 5 is more than I'll need for live play. The humbucker sounds a little bit like a single coil to me, but we'll see once I've goosed the master with the band. 1- bridge humbucker/dirty 2- neck Single coil comb w/bridge humbucker clean 3- bridge single coil dirty 4- neck Single coil dirty/mellow solo 5- neck single coil + bridge humbucker dirty funky (roughly) as usual, on PC speakers it might sound thin.. click on the big play (>) button for hi-fi stream, small button for lo-fi stream, or the down arrow to download the MP3 first then listen. Guitarzan
cool alan, it has balls doesn't it? i found when i had a wilkinson on my pac 812w i could actually play palm muted stuff and stay in tune. those are sweet trems for sure. congrats on a great axe. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
Caevan O’Shite
Nice tones! All of 'em. The coil-tapped/single-coil tones sound good, punchy 'n' biting with overdrive! Sounds like a good match for your Rivera; I like those amps.
