Small Suitable Guitar Amp for Recording

Rickorder

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am new :-)

I just spent 20 minutes typing up a thread and went to spellcheck and .... poooooooffff...

Gone like the wind... :-0

O.K. where do I start... hmmm

I'll go brief this time, in point detail.

Have a room to record in (bedroom), needs to stay kind of as a bedroom , so now major upgrades for me.

I record to PC via an ART Tube MP Studio Mic /Line Preamp.

Have been using Amp Sim Software Plugins for guitars, but would like to try the real thing using an amp.

I do have an Apex 460 Condenser Mic, and a Shure SM-57.

Since I have neighbours, could you recommend a small (15-30 watt) amp for recording to disk ?

And, if you'd be so kind, could you offer advice on how to get a decent crunch sound from it when I need it. (Using gain,Effect pedals) or whatever people do to get some good Rock Chunk...

Thanks so much... Nice to be here..

Thanks guys,

Any good effect pedals you'd recommend ?

Trying to come up with a decent Rock Sound "on a budget"... (for the time being)

Leon...

I Like your guitar playing.. Sounds like you could play for "Journey" .

Cheers

I'll do some digging around for info on those amps..
