chedrob
Any opinions on this guitar? how does it compare to a 175? would it be a good blues guitar?
BwanaDik
I don't own one, and somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's basically an ES 175 with a gold top, floral pickguard, P-90s and a Bigsby. It's a hollowbody, so I'm not sure what kind of blues guitar it would make; probably be fine for low volume stuff - I think more along the lines of rockabilly. When Danny Gatton wasn't leanin' on a Tele, he played an ES 295. I'd sure love to own one someday. BwanaDik Viva la bagatelle!
Stan_Frenchie
Hi, It is a 175 ! But with P90 and a Bigbsby so you get the best and worse of both worlds ... P 90 sound (if you like it), Tuning problems ... Blues guitar ? NO, unless you refer to Jazz Blues à la Ch. Christian, Heb Ellis, Joe Pass ... If you need serious string bending it won't make it ... and if you are into jazz you would be better with an old (before '57) 175, maybe a little more expensive but with a much better sound. Hope this helps. Stan. Love + Learning + Music = LIFE !!! (some money welcomed as well ...)
