tubes2bits Posted August 30, 2003 Share Posted August 30, 2003 I just picked up a cheap used Japanese Fender Jazz Bass that (to my suprise) plays great. However, even with new strings, the E string is much louder and bassier than the other three. I'm thinking it is a pickup problem but it seems to be the same with both neck and bridge pickups!? Bobbo Posted August 30, 2003 Share Posted August 30, 2003 It sounds like your pickups are adjusted to close to the E string..If they are to close, they tend to sound mushy and louder...Try adjusting your pickups a little further away from your E string..
