I Have 2 Questions.....

1. How would one get rid of the radio signals that come from the guitar amp everytime the wah is initiated?

This is a big problem for us in rehearsal.

Though I am not the guitarist in my band, I'd still like to find some solutions to kill this noise.

The reason he's not posting?

No internet access.

2. In some parts of our songs there are low / hi pass filter sweeps. We'd like to re-create these parts live.

Is there a "filter expression" pedal out there on the market that could do this? Or some other device that can help us realize this?

Thanx Yall. :D

1) Get the guitarist to swap out the cords he's/she's using. Shorter cords might help. Make sure they're good quality cords too. Cheap cords with poor sheilding are more prone to this. If the problem persists, switch to a different brand of wah pedal.

2) There are a couple "micro-synth" type pedals on the market. Electro-Harmonix makes one as does Big Briar (they make the Moogerfooger).

Ditto on the above post, and watch for coiled cables on the floor...sometimes they act as an antenna. As for the effect, a good flanger with a wide sweep patched into the board's output oughta do it. (If I understand you right...you wanna sweep the entire mix as in Itchygoo Park, right?)

I always thought the radio signal glitch was due to the cheap stuff my band was using at the time.

Cracked me up(and everyone else)when at a Hendrix concert, the local "Bubble-Gum" AM station shot out of his Marshalls playing "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!"

Jimi got a kick out of it, too!

Thanx for the replys guys.

The filter effect is for guitar parts only.

We have a heavy dance element to our music,

so we tend to do filter sweeps on certain guitar parts.

As you would do on an synth arp.

As for the cords.

I'm pretty sure he uses high quality stuff.

It's been a problem for a while.

I'd like to find a solution.

Keep the suggestions coming..

Make sure his guitar has proper sheilding inside the pickup cavitys......This tends to be a problem on a lot of the lower end priced guitars in todays market along with improper setups..

Also that this pickups are properly grounded.
