Bookmatched pieces of wood are created by taking a single sheet and slicing it down the middle of the depth. Then, you literally open it up like a book. The figure will exactly match up on both pieces, where they connect, and flow away from the seem in mirror image. Does that explain it? The pieces here are fantastic, but they are far from perfectly matching grain. It's easiest to find me on Facebook.
