Murphy sent me something in the mail today.

Well, not really Murphy. It was really Chip and Neil.

But Murphy's Law was operating in full force and effect.

Chip...

He sends a cd. Wrapped in a piece of paper. No pad. Not even an envelope. He TAPED the edges of an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper around his cd, put a couple of stamps on it, wrote down the addresses, and sent it on it's merry way. It arrived in perfect condition... (sounds great btw.) I would NEVER have believed this could make it across town like this let alone across the country!!???!!??!?

Neil...

Sends HIS cd, in a post office approved bubble bag. BIG "DO NOT BEND" written on both sides... Same postage as Chip, both addresses in the right place etc.

Of course, Neil's CD is SNAPPED IN TWO! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/eek.gif

So... I guess this means that I have to wait till Neil gets another copy headed in my direction... That's MORE time for any remaining guitplayers who have FINALLY finished their latest guitar masterpiece.

Is that you?

Anyway, if you want to get one in, there's still time.

My only request... send it wrapped in a piece of paper!!! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gifhttp://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gifhttp://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

.. I guess we'll see if I rock. I dunno.

Thing is, I've got 9,000 things pressing, I threw something together, I didn't have a proper envelope, since I'm still trying to de-Win2k my computer my cd burner software wasn't installed, couldn't find the install disk, had to use something funky off the net, didn't work, had to do another thing, it's the apocalypse (great timing), 4,000 other diversionary problems, yada yada yada...

I don't have an envelope????

I figure a cd is a pretty robust thing - if they can fly around my car and get sat upon without being worse for the wear, then it should survive a primitive "envelope" treatment in the U.S. mail.

... of course, since I'm not exactly happy about how is sounds, playing, production, etc., I suppose part of me also thought "and if it doesn't make it, that's probably for the better anyhow". Sigh.

You rock big time, Dude.

No doubt about it.

Dave,

I received your e-mail saying you didn't get MY e-mail. I did send it... Odd.

Earlier, Scott from MA, who also has a musician.net e-mail address couldn't receive my e-mails... is there some sort of filter or something at the e-mail server?

Anyway, I guess I don't need to be so secretive about my contact info... so here it is for you, Scott, or anyone else who wants to still send something in... (Lee, you out there?)

Hello Michael,

Yep, still no answer mail from you so I'm not sure what's up?! At any rate, I'll send you a tune or two the beginning of next week. Do you need some cash for blank cd and return postage?

Also, what have you got so far? I mean would a certain style or genre' fit with what you have from others? I was thinking of sending a tune that's me imagining I'm a member of the Beatles around 1962 or so, but we've got all sorts of styles both fast and slow. Let me know if you check back in.

Thanks,

-Dave

DC,

For whatever reason, I can't send a message to a musician.net account without it bouncing back!!??!??

As far as the other submittals they range from advanced guitslinging instrumentals (from Chip and Khan), to guitar oriented rock, (Ted), to acoustic fingerstyle, and more... really a variety.

So... send what you've got...

If you can, money that covers the postage, and a buck for the cd blank is appreciated...

Simon, Lee, Rosespappy, and the rest of you... ARE YOU OUT THERE?

I like what Jay Leno had to say about Usama bin Laden last night:

A) A dead man.

I suppose it would be nice to be heard, but...

I don`t think a CD is big enough to fit in really huge letters THIS IS JUST A DEMO. If you can forgive a certain amount of roughness (think surface of Pluto), I may send a song or two in.
