What's up with all these "Favorite" posts!!!

Recently there was a push on the Keyboard forum to move into second place in the "forum posts race"... The Very Cool Mr Dave Bryce, started about 5 innocent "favorite" type posts that turned into a "favorite frenzy"...

It worked, and posts flew on subjects ranging from keyboards to cereal to movie stars...

When Ted commented on the relative "slow down" of posts here... I thought I'd try a few out...

Sorry if it's a little too much... and I guess thanks that no one else took the bait and posted their own.

Guess I'll stop for a while and let these float down into oblivion.

Back to posts as ususal.

BTW, I am still interested in more forum CD entries.

Actually, I don't think it was Dave's intent at all. He posted the questions and it kind of snow balled from there. People started posting more stuff, and then Jim Aikin (from Keyboard mag) posted a note saying that the topics weren't relevant to keyboard discussions, which made us start even more topics just for the fun. At the end we did get carried away, and I'm glad it stopped.

I'll say this. It helps you to learn a little bit about the people you share the forum with. With the time some of us spent here, I think it's cool.

I pulled this in rec.music.makers.guitar a few years ago after getting sick of reading the nth post about "what gutar does Korn use?" and the endless barrage of insulting that goes on there... So I posted about two pages worth of guitar specific topics: because I wanted to look in there and see that for a change, instead of the bozosity that seems so endemic there.

Luckily, things here seem to be of a higher S/N level.
