michael saulnier
Yeah, I know this is a GUITAR FORUM, but sometimes we have to sing a bit too... right? I've got an late 80's EV PL80 mic that has become "my sound". I have a couple of Shure SM58's and 57's that are OK, but I can tell right away when I'm warbling into MY mic. Do you have a favorite? guitplayer I'm still "guitplayer"! Check out my music if you like... http://www.michaelsaulnier.com

DC
I just got a Studio Projects C1 and it smokes my other mics. My Sweetie/songwriting partner is still partial to our old AKG 414, but the C1 is growing on her. For live she uses a Sennheiser 431 and I've been using an EV 457 which I'm tired of. Prolly go back to a 57 or find a condenser that doesn't feed back. -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse
Mile
For vocals I use Sennheiser e 845-S (evolution series). I used to use MD 421-II but now I'm just stuck with 845... Thinking about getting CAD M-179... If it sounds god, just play the darn thing
creatura
for live vocals the audix om5 is (imho)unmatchable it buries the beta 58s and if you scream or sing quite loud the audix om7 is yet a step up in the SPL department ...besides these are two of the industries most used live vocal mics by top touring artists and they are not that expensive at all... Tedster
Actually, one of the sweetest mics (for live performance) I ever used was a Beyer M-88...dynamic. I used to have one...it got trashed somehow. They're quite expensive, but boy do they sound good. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
