Tedster
Our buddy "Live Music" (Duke) was hanging out quite a bit, asking a lot of questions about gigs, etc... I'd kinda like to hear from him, and see how his gigs are going... "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"

LiveMusic
Howdy, Tedster, etal. Duke is alive and well. And golf is his mistress for the summer. I had rotator cuff surgery eight months ago and after a lot of trouble, it finally got to where I could get back into it again. When I do something, I go nuts. Prior to my self-proclaimed I'm-gonna-be-a-rock-star focus, I was a golfaholic. I've now fell back off the wagon. Golf is getting there. When I quit playing last year for surgery, handicap was +1. I don't know what it will be for this next handicap calculation, but it won't be +1. Probably 0 or 1. I hope I keep it scratch or better and improve from there... hopefully. Problem is, that takes an enormous amount of dedication. KHAN... and other golfers... share in my frustration. I swear, I'd rather hack it around than this. Last weekend, I was in a tournament. Qualified for championship flight. Sunday, I hit 12 of 14 fairways. 15 of 18 greens. 7,200 yard course. Shot 74. I could not buy a putt. The greens were SLOWWWWWWW... and I detest slow greens. Screws me all up. I, literally, left four 5' birdie putts short, hanging on the edge. Nothing sickens me more than to stripe shot after shot and not make the freakin' putts. And I'm usually a great putter. Did I say I hate slow greens? But as for ball-striking, I'm getting there. As for music, it has taken a backseat for now. I didn't touch my guitar for two whole weeks, almost three. Amazing how fast the callouses go. Starting to pick it up again a bit each day now. We had a 30 year class reunion recently. Couple of friends made me promise my professional debut would be no later than this fall, for another big party. I think about it all the time. I've spoken to some good local musicians to be my "band" and they seem agreeable, so I might pull it off. I have some ideas to really put on quite an entertaining show. I have a buddy who is a self-proclaimed stand-up comic. Many ideas. We'll see. I'll be back soon asking dumb questions. ------------------ Duke > > > [ Live! ] < < <
Tedster
You haven't asked a dumb question yet, to my knowledge. Just wondered how the solo gigging was going...'til then, keep on whapping those golf balls... "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
