My new guitar tone...

Please,

I'm looking for some critiques on my new guitar tone.

Here are the samples:

Note: The sound is still "dry" I haven't added any effects to it yet.

I am trying to get a tone that will work for recording my new 4 song demo. I can't really mic an amp cause it would drive my neighbors crazy. As well, I live in a small apt. and don't have a lot of space.

I made these sounds with my Fender Japanese Re-Issue Strat, an Art Tube-Pre amp, a SansAmp Tube emulator pedal, and a RNC compressor.

My main concern is making music that people would like to listen to- mostly me of course, but I'd like to do a serious upgrade to my songs on mp3.com.

-feedback anyone?

Thanks,

Madrone

well, it sounds ok to me but please dont say you arent usin any efx...

that compressor is coming thru loud and clear! compressors are an acquired taste;to me it weakens a signal , i would remove it just to get more dynamix in-i'm missing those full, glorious mids that a really good guitar tone(that i like to listen to)has.

carry on...as you were...

Some of that may be the SansAmp. This is me...I'm not a big SansAmp fan...they sound brittle to me...but I can relate to the "living in an apartment" bit.

The riffs themselves have a nice sound. And the clean guitar works well with it. Let us know when the tune is done!

I've updated the first file...

Yeah, I'm noticing the compression more listening to it over and over again. (My ears are not so trained yet). It is deffinately way to much compression on a lot of these sounds. I'll keep working on it.

Thanks for the input.
