Just looking for some suggestions for good replacements for a Mex Tele--both the neck and bridge...Ì was recommended the Dimarzio Virtual T's... I've installed the DiMarzio Virtuals and they were pretty noisy for a supposed series wired humbucking- single-coil. I would recommend the Bill Lawrence L-250's, Fender Texas Specials, or EMG's. Anyway, in advance of your reply here's some ideas. Many vintage purists like Lindy Fralin pickups... I've had a tech tell me they're a little "spiky" sounding, but they can be custom wound by Lindy... They're expensive and there's typically a waiting list. http://www.fralinpickups.com/ I've heard good things about Kinman pickups, they're noiseless, are supposed to have a "vintage" sound, and there are some sound samples on the guy's website. http://www.kinman.com If you want the "Danny Gatton" tele sound, then Joe Barden is your direction. http://www.joebarden.com Barden pickups are high output, "rail" type humbuckers... they give a tele a unique sound for sure. Lace Sensors, although Fender has pretty much moved away from these, I like the blue ones I put in my American Standard Tele. Some people complain they are too "sterile", but I don't hear that... The Tele "colors" like "blue" mean different things from the strat "colors". Go to their website for more info: http://www.agi-lace.com/ Seymour Duncan's Antiquities are generally well regarded. They're modestly priced, and easy to find. I picked my blue lace sensors because at the time, (three years ago), they were the quietest, best sounding, (to me) ones available.
