LiveMusic
What on earth does this Creedence lyric mean? Stuck in... on... that doesn't make any sense. What does the entire line mean? "Oh, Lord, stuck in on Lodi again." > > > [ Live! ] < < <
Tedster
Lodi is a town in California. Apparently a (according to feel imparted by the lyric) hick town. Fogerty's lyric is about being stuck playing a redneck hick bar in a redneck hick town, when he'd rather be doing bigger and better things... "Oh Lord, stuck in Lodi again". "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
Tedster
As far as I know, there's no "on" in the line. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
Lisa
There's a Lodi, New Jersey, too. In fact, that's where the legendary band The Misfits hail from, but I don't think that's what Fogerty had in mind when he was writing the song....
LiveMusic
If it doesn't say in ON, I understand it. The lyrics I have seen in more than one place have in ON. Somebody probably typed it wrong and it spread all over the place. > > > [ Live! ] < < <
Sir Bob
It's just a twist on "Stuck inside Mobile with the Mephis blues again." Just like "freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose" is copping from "you ain't got nothin when you ain't got nothing to lose." Tedster
Amen to all all around. Yep, the lyrics online (I use 'em too) sometimes have to be scrutinized, because the people kind enough to put 'em on are just like us, and prone to mishearing things (especially the way people like Fogerty sing)... "Seize an eggplant sauerkraut" = "She's got legs and not too proud" It's easy to do. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif For some funny ones, go to: http://www.kissthisguy.com A site named after the misheard Hendrix "Purple Haze" lyric.
