aeon
I live in an apartment and I want a guitar amp for recording purposes. This means I need seriously low power - even 5 watts is way too loud. Studio amps are made for studios...what I am looking for is a "home studio" amp with lovely class-A valve tone. Am I dreaming? What is wrong with the market? I can't imagine that an average home guitarist has any use for a 50-watt head, or even a 5-watt one. No wonder the POD sells like hotcakes! I want real tube tone and I don't want to be evicted. Power soaks and loads are not what I am talking about. I want pure, sweet, unadulterated tone, but at a volume that is suitable for the home studio. Help! Go tell someone you love that you love them. Guest
I know what you mean. I tried the Fender 5 watt amp, whatever its name is, sounded pretty good. I then tried the Top Hat 5 watter, that sounded OK too. But the TopHat 20 watter with the 12 inch speaker sounded so much better. The five watters, I don't know for sure, but if they're not pushing a twelve in speaker, probably don't have enough bottom to sound really good. My TopHat Club Deluxe, 20 watts into a 12" sounds fantastic. Joe
