Tedster
Anybody remember Traynor amps? I remember a day when durn near everybody owned one of these Canadian-made tube-driven workhorses...at least in my neck of the woods (up in Michigan). Well, call it nostalgia, retro fever, whatever, but I'd like to get my mitts on one. Anyone know of any places to look? jef5f
Yeah, I remember Traynor. I've only tried two or three, all used. The last one I saw was in a pawn shop in Kirksville, MO a couple of yearst ago. Psalm 33:3 The best instrument you have, is your heart.
brianrost
Traynor is actually back. Yorkville Sound has started using the Traynor brand name again and starting to roll out some new amps.

Their old tube bass heads worked good for rock/metal amps, although the mids were sort of tricky since the tone controls kinda went everywhere except where you wanted them. Loud, sort of like a cross between an old Marshall and an SVT. A buddy of mine used to use one in a metal band through a ratty old "Kiss world tour" 412; sort of a deep but unresponsive sound. http://www.mp3.com/chipmcdonald Guitar Lessons in Augusta Georgia: www.chipmcdonald.com Eccentric blog: https://chipmcdonaldblog.blogspot.com/ / "big ass windbag" - Bruce Swedien
