I know it's actually a drum record but Tommy Bolin played his best stuff on that one! It also features Jam Hammer. This is supposedly the recording that inspired Jeff Beck to do Blow by Blow. Also like the Bill Bruford recordings featuring Allan Holdsworth. Holy shit! Almost left out the Holy Grail (at least for me anyway) Tony Williams Lifetime..Believe It (also Million Dollar Legs). Holdsworth's tone is a lot more raw (raging Marshall) on these earlier recordings than his later stuff. He says he hates this stuff but I consider it his best.
