stratman_dup1
I'm in the market for a good Jazz instructional video, I'm fairly knowledable in the theory department but want to take it further. My knowledge of chord substitution isn't that great and could use a little help as well. Anybody know of some GOOD videos they would recommend out there?? There are plenty on the market but not all are created equally and I'd prefer to not waste my cash on a couple of bad ones before I find that diamond in the ruff. Thanks, Phil W. Chip McDonald
The old REH Joe Pass one is good; so is the Emily Remler, if you're into that straight ahead style. Of course, watching an old video of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers is probably more educational... http://www.mp3.com/chipmcdonald Guitar Lessons in Augusta Georgia: www.chipmcdonald.com Eccentric blog: https://chipmcdonaldblog.blogspot.com/ / "big ass windbag" - Bruce Swedien
Guest
I've been working my way throught the Lorne Lofsky series, available through Mel Bay. It's very logical in that he uses the same blues / jazz 145 1625 in G throughout the first video, expanding on chords and soloing as the lesson progresses.
