mildbill
maybe after kurzweil designs the be-all/end-all workstation, you guys could take a break before starting on your next project. i'd like to propose it: make a modern hardware midi recorder. no bigger than a laptop, with the same size screen and inputs for a mouse (for graphical editing of controler data) and a keyboard (for naming and song/track notes, as well as midi connectors.. if it was capable of doing stuff like cubase and logic can do (midi fx, quantized controllers, etc., etc.) i'd be very happy. midi is a pretty mature technology now, so updates wouldn't need to be often (if at all). i'd be willing to pay some bucks for it, and with a stand-alone hard disc recorder, i'd be able to throw my computers in the dumpster. i still can't believe no one has made this yet. BP3
It wouldn't take much of a cpu. Look at what Notator/Creator was on Atari. For MIDI, I still miss some of it's features.
