mooghead Posted November 4, 2003 Share Posted November 4, 2003 I spent a week-end with my parents in Wien. Wow! You can feel the past. The Opera, the concert halls; every church has its majestic pipe organ, its full orchestra and choir, playing "messe cantate"; the statues of composers, the stars of the composers just as in hollywood, the houses where the greats lived and worked; so many people going around with orchestra instruments in their cases; the museum of antique musical instruments, with INCREDIBLE instruments so hard to describe...pianos (bosendorfers) played by Ludwing&Co. henryrobinett Posted November 4, 2003 Share Posted November 4, 2003 Yeah. I taught in a music school there for about 6 months. Great place. Lived two doors down from a Beethoven residence. Friend of mine I visited lived in a home where Mozart performed twice. "Right over there in that corner!" Fortunately they're still proud of their musical heritage.
