In case you're interested: Prophet 5

Saw an auction for a MIDIed Prophet 5 on eBay, it's under $1000 right now. I don't really know how good a price that is for a Prophet 5, but the owner seemed to think it was good, since he said it would have been more had he not broken off a knob pulling it out of storage. If only I had the money... :(

Hey guys, my birthday's next week... :D

It's a very fuzzy picture (always a red flag), but it looks to me like the shaft of the potentiometer was broken off. Still not a huge deal, but it's not as easy as pressing on a new knob. You would have to dissasemble the unit, order a replacement potentiometer, desolder the old one and unscrew it, solder on a new one, and put the knob back on. Probably a simple repair to do yourself or you could get it fixed inexpensively at a repair place, assuming that's all that's wrong with it. But act fast if you wat it, the current price is within $50 of the "buy it now", so it will probably be snatched up by the end of the day.

NEXT,..PLEASE, YOU MUST CONTACT ME FIRST, IF THERE IS ANY PROBLEM. IF YOU LEAVE FEEDBACK FIRST, BEFORE CONTACT, I FORGET WHO YOU ARE, AND I DON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE WHEN I REMEMBER.
In other words, if I send you a bad product do not leave bad feedback or else .....

No way would I bid on anything from this guy.

LOL

I can understand him putting this out there. I think you're right about what he's saying, but perhaps you misconstrue his intent.

It sounds to me like he'd want the chance to fix the problem should one arise. It sounds to me like he may once have sold something to someone who, rather than give him that chance, immediately sullied his reputation. It sounds to me like he doesn't want that to happen again, because bad feedback will indeed diminish his chances of selling more.

Of course, I could be very wrong about it - your take may be completely on-target. I just have a tendency to want people to want to do good. Naive, I suppose lol.

I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist.
