michael saulnier
I'm one of those Dflat minor kinda guys. Seems I just hear melody lines in that key. I'd say A minor is a close second place... real bluesy. What do you all think? guitplayer ------------------ http://www.mp3.com/acousticvoodoo Guitar Forum CD Info http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/Forum19/HTML/000537.html I'm still "guitplayer"! Goldberg
I like E Minor myself, but if I'm feeling in the Major Mood, I'll go with Dflat Major (lots of little b's on the staff, looks cool!). "Bach is ever new"-Glenn Gould

Guest
Ebmaj, Abmaj, and their related minors. Gmaj/em. I hate Cmaj. Always feels chessy--I gotta hear from my black brothers.
marino
Try this: G, A, B flat ,C sharp, D, E, F, G - Kind of D harmonic minor, but starting from G. It's one of my faves. Huh, Guitplayer - D flat minor? Check your Circle of Fifths - It would have 8 flats, thank God they spared us any more than 7 http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif

It's a real construct.
rkipp
I find D minor to be the saddest of all keys, it just makes people weep instantly.... Seriously though, as opposed to conventional keys (If I had to choose, I always liked Eb minor), I like mixing it up with different modes. Actually, maybe someone should start a "favorite modes" thread. mwisniewski
Right around 2 AM on the weekends it's usually the key to the gas station bathroom ... and after that it's Db Major, with just the right amount of flats, not too many, not too few. DOS
Db Major and A Minor. I think I have the most fun playing Db Major pieces. Mike
Jeep
I've never been able to to boogie in the keys of C# or F#. Pretty much any other key works for me. G is my favourite.
