Yamis
I played professionaly for many years; however, after getting married and having kids, I pretty much gave up playing and focused on my career as an engineer. I haven't really played for about 8 years now. Anyway, I sold all of my keyboards, processors, multi-track recorder and sound system. About a year ago (after my first child entered college), I got the itch to get back into music. I purchased an Alesis QS7.1. I can't play enough now and I want more. I would like to get back into home recording but using my computer instead of an analog multi-track recorder. I am currently using my QS7.1 connected to my computer via the serial port and not a MIDI port. I am running Micrologic AV (the software that came free on the Alesis CD with the QS7.1). Is there any minimum equipment configuration that you could suggest for me? Better software? Another keyboard or sound module? Also, what are the advantages and disadvantages to having the QS7.1 connected to the PC via the serial port? Yamis
