BOOKUMDANO
I can get a good deal on the old Denny Jaeger master violin sample library. How does this library compare to the more expensive Miroslav stuff? Opinions anyone?
dansouth
One opinion on Miroslav is to avoid the watered down one-CD "light" set. It's kind of cheesy. The Miroslav CD's have samples of all instruments in the orchestra, not just violins.
Allan Speers
I find Miroslav (full set) pretty useless for pop music. Evrything is so lethargic. An orchestra on qualudes. Yawn.... Big waste of money, IMO. The solo cello is pretty good, but not worth the price of admission.
Guest
I totally agree with Allan, talk about LABOURED!!.....and the Denny Jaeger stuff just sounds like a synth. I wouldn't buy either....I use my Fairlight for strings, they are truly amazing. A story......I was playing an arrangement to a friend that i used Miroslav strings on...he said "Wow what's the wacked out gate thing you have on the strings?"meaning...the attacks are rediculous on the legato sections....the short sections are too short ....the tremelos are OK....and some of the tunings are rotten!.
