freelance Posted September 9, 2003 Share Posted September 9, 2003 I use an Emad on my 22" and on my 18" kick drums. I was going to put one on my 20" kick - but I have it sounding perfect with an Aquarian haed and I don't want to mess with the sound. The Emad's are a very "fat" sounding head with external damping rings (2 different sizes). I like them alot (in particlar the adjustable, external muffling. Siberian Posted September 9, 2003 Share Posted September 9, 2003 I use it... love it. For me it yields a nice phat punchy tone. FWIW I also like the Aquarian Superkick II as well. But for some reason I always felt like the SK2 wore out and lost it's warmth in a short time. I've had the EMAD on for about six months now and it still sounds great. The only thing about it that I would say is a bit of an annoyance is that the plastic tray that retains the muffling ring has a tendency to split. Mine did after about a month. Siberian Posted September 26, 2003 Share Posted September 26, 2003 Yes, I have the DW pillow in there as well.. just barely touching both heads. I like a punchy sound with no ringing overtones.
