DArcy
Hi all I do all my recording on computer, and at present record drums via MIDI with my keyboard (SBLive and soundfonts). It is impossible to do drum fills this way. In a perfect world I'd have the money for an electronic kit (must be quiet, baby in the house !). Failing that, does anybody know if you can buy a desktop "kit" with pads I can play with sticks and trigger MIDI notes with? Tks D'Arcy
MPCman
Roland SPD-20 will do the trick! More info, visit the Roland site, or www.vdrums.com and hit the search button on the discussion forum.

Super 8
Of course, there ARE alternatives... Such as the Laptop by Zendrum. http://www.zendrum.com/images/laptop.jpg You play it with your fingers, and obviously it has way more triggers and is smaller than the Roland unit. I have never played one, but I DO play the Zendrum, and can vouche for the quality of their instruments -they are VERY NICE... Check out Zendrum.com for more info. DC
The SPD-20 is very cool but a bit pricey for what it is. I've got an older SPD-8 that works really great. Might check them on the used market. It's so much better to use sticks than flapping a keyboard's keys. -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse
