Question re: Drum sounds on recording from non-drummer?

I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist recording my first CD on my PC. I am still very ignorant when it comes to MIDI, keyboards, drum beat software for PC, or drum synths & machines. It's not my ballpark although I believe I can put quality beats to my songs with the right equipment. My question is, what is the right avenue of the above things to start researching so I can begin laying down the last stage of my production...drums? I would be extremely happy if I could get by with good sounding drum beats from a keyboard or software for the PC, but is that the best bet for me in the long run?

Can someone out there please assist

Collaborate with a real honest to god drummer. Collaboration makes for much more interesting music. Even if it's just keys bass and drums, and you overdub everything else yourself, the groove you establish between two living souls can make things really happen.

A WOP BOP A LU BOP, A LOP BAM BOOM!
